Frogmore, SC (home to Frogmore Stew) is a small community on St. Helena Island near Beaufort, SC. It is the closest town to the historic Penn Center. The origins of Frogmore Stew can be traced back to the cuisine of the Gullah and Geechee inhabitants of the Sea Islands along the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina. With African, French, and Spanish influences, meals for large groups were made quickly using readily available foods. The stew was an easy quick way to prepare all the foods at once. This seasoning packet can make your Lowcountry boil taste authentic!
